Sir,

I have the honour to transmit for your information copy of a Report by Mr. Osbert Chadwick on the proposed new Water-Works at Kowloon which has been printed for convenience of reference with his former Report enclosed (45/40) in your Despatch No.437 of the 27th December last.

2. A copy of the more recent Report has been sent to Messrs. Denison, Ram and Gibbs with a request that they will make some experimental blocks of concrete of various mixtures using the best materials which are available near the site of the new works.

3. They will also be asked to carry out the recommendations made by Mr. Chadwick in his Report or in the event of there being any difficulty in so doing, or of their seeing any objection to any of the recommendations, to submit any alternative proposals they may have to make.
